UFCW activists call for end to Doug Ford’s cuts at Ontario Day of Action rally

Toronto – October 30, 2019 – Activists from UFCW Locals 1006A and 175 and the UFCW Canada National Office, together with community groups and allies from the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), welcomed MPPs back to Queen’s Park on Monday by demanding that Doug Ford’s Conservative government stop its reckless cuts and create an Ontario for everyone.

UFCW activists help Light the Night across Canada

St. John’s, N.L., Halifax, N.S., Montreal, London, Ont., Calgary, and Vancouver – October 21, 2019  – From St. John’s to Vancouver, and numerous cities in between, UFCW activists from across Canada joined families, friends and neighbours at Light the Night walks to support and fundraise for the life changing and life saving work of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Douglas O’Halloran – 1952-2019

Calgary – October 16, 2019 – Douglas O’Halloran, president of UFCW 401 for three decades, a UFCW International Vice President, and a pillar of the UFCW family and the labour movement, passed away peacefully on October 14 after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
