Administrative Assistant Communications - Permanent full time / 40 hours a week

Job Purpose: This role is essential to the operations of the union, providing support in a range of areas within Administrative Services, including the communications department, member communication and general office administration.
Knowledge and skill of databases, digital communications and design software are essential administrative tools for use in modern day, member, and union communications. Experienced correspondence and copy writer and proven ability to edit documents are also essential skills in this position.
The successful candidate will be a consummate professional, able to perform work accurately and efficiently in a deadline-oriented, fast paced union office.
The role requires discretion, political judgement, and a broad understanding of the labour movement in British Columbia.
Salary: according to the USW 2009 collective agreement starting wage of $27.09 per hour
Key Requirements and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work in key areas of administration services including the Communication Department and member communications using mass emailing systems, digital programs, graphic design and office software as well as perform general administrative duties as required.
The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in a general administrative setting and have an advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability to write and edit, work with CRM, CMS and mass email systems including MailChimp and WordPress along with proficiency in standard MS Office and Adobe Suite software programs. Familiarity with platforms such as Unionware and Salesforce are key assets.
