Finance & Payroll Assistant
The Manitoba Teachers’ Society is seeking an enthusiastic team member to fill the position of Finance & Payroll Assistant in our Finance & Administration Services Department.
The primary responsibility of this position is the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and other finance related duties as well as the processing of payroll and benefits for MTS staff.
- Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards.
- Certificate or diploma in business or accounting training from a recognized institute.
- Completion of Level 1 of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent related experience in computerized accounting and in a Canadian payroll environment.
Knowledge and experience in MS Dynamics Great Plains accounting software and Ceridian Payroll will be considered assets. The successful candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of accounting procedures and payroll processing and regulations, proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and data entry applications. The candidate must also possess excellent mathematical, organizational, analytical and communications skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and exercise independent judgement and maintain strict confidentiality.
The starting salary for this position is $49,435.00 annually. The Society offers an excellent benefit package including a pension plan, an employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Group Life insurance and free parking. Terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
