The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Analyze current applications for security, efficiency, efficacy; ensuring current systems are meeting the requirements of ETFO.
  • Support & administer ETFO systems applications, including installation, upgrades and maintaining applications.
  • Performing configurations and fine-tuning on all applications.
  • Ensure all current and proposed applications meet IT infrastructure requirements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults, errors and issues with existing and proposed application solutions and provide user support for all ETFO applications.
  • Serving as a liaison with internal customers and ETFO vendors and suppliers.
  • Create test plans and cases to identify issues with proposed technology.
  • Oversee and develop the implementation, training, and communication of new technology to achieve successful implementation.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to provide application solutions and support.
  • Provide and maintain an application’s database, ensuring disaster recovery planning documentation is current for all ETFO applications.
  • Collaborate with all tiers of support to resolve issues, engaging with external vendors if necessary.
  • Create and maintain integration points with other external systems.
  • Provide technical support in managing applications in the Azure cloud-hosted environment.
  • Perform patching and upgrades; daily system health checks; and regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Create documentation to support applications framework and recovery system,
  • Ensure all proposed applications and systems are compliant with ETFO technology infrastructure, policies and procedures, including security and risk management.
  • Provide technical support for ETFO records and information management databases (including OpenText).
  • Provide on-call coverage and support as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience with business application technical management.
  • Demonstrated experience, performance and results of application systems development & implementation.
  • Ability to analyze IT complications and develop and execute appropriate action plans and solutions.
  • Ability to test, analyze and provide recommendations on new or updated applications required.
  • Proven technical support work experience (hardware, applications support, networking, and mobile devices).
  • Proven ability to support packages, stacks, patches and component upgrades.
  • Expertise knowledge and certification of Microsoft technologies – i.e., Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2012 R2.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with decision-making, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and develop new skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive and can-do approach to work.
  • This position involves the performance of duties after business hours, with paid overtime.
